Major Responsibilities

• Lead the production engineering and facilities engineering functions
• Provide technical leadership for production optimization, artificial lift strategy, well performance management, facilities design, field infrastructure, and operational reliability
• Manage and develop a team of production engineers, facilities engineers, technical specialists, consultants, and contractors
• Partner with operations to improve production performance, reduce downtime, enhance facility reliability, and optimize operating costs
• Oversee engineering support for wells, production facilities, gathering systems, compression, water handling, tank batteries, metering, and related surface infrastructure
• Lead identification, evaluation, prioritization, and execution of production enhancement and facility improvement projects
• Review and approve engineering recommendations, project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and economic justifications
• Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, LOE planning, and asset development planning
• Ensure engineering projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, completions, operations, HSE, regulatory, land, finance, and supply chain teams to support asset performance and development objectives
• Oversee root cause analysis and corrective action plans for recurring production issues, equipment failures, facility constraints, safety incidents, and operational inefficiencies
• Drive improvement and standardization of engineering practices, facility designs, workflows, technical evaluations, and project execution processes
• Support acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, asset integration, and technical evaluations as needed
• Interface with midstream partners on volume forecasting and marketing for volume nominations
• Monitor engineering project performance, production uplift, facility capacity, downtime, costs, and return on investment
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, air permitting, mechanical integrity, and operational requirements
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to production performance, facility reliability, emissions reduction, cost efficiency, and field execution
• Prepare and present technical updates, project recommendations, budget reviews, and performance reports to leadership
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, technical excellence, cost discipline, and collaboration

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required
• Professional Engineer license preferred but not required
• 10+ years of progressive upstream oil and gas engineering experience
• Significant experience in production engineering and/or facilities engineering required
• Prior leadership experience managing engineers, technical staff, consultants, contractors, or multidisciplinary project teams
• Experience supporting operated upstream assets, including production operations, artificial lift, well optimization, facilities design, field infrastructure, compression, water handling, and operational reliability
• Experience with unconventional shale operations
• Experience managing capital and expense projects, budgets, schedules, field execution, and cross-functional asset support
• Experience successfully working across functions and with executive leadership to execute production strategies
• Strong understanding of upstream production operations, production optimization, artificial lift, workovers, facilities engineering, surface infrastructure, and asset development
• Knowledge of separation, compression, pumping, storage, metering, water handling, flow assurance, emissions control, and field construction practices
• Ability to lead technical evaluations, project prioritization, capital planning, economic analysis, and operational improvement initiatives
• Strong project management, contractor management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control skills
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with production data systems, engineering tools, ERP systems, project tracking tools, and reporting platforms

Physical Requirements

This role will involve work in office and field. The candidate must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, climbing, working outdoors, wearing required PPE, traveling to field locations, and working around facility equipment, high-pressure systems, noise, chemicals, and changing weather conditions. The employee is expected to follow all company and regulatory safety requirements and to exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
