Major Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well performance to identify production optimization opportunities
• Recommend and support artificial lift design, installation, troubleshooting, and optimization (to include Gas Lift, Plunger Lift, and Rod Pump)
• Develop and execute workover, recompletion, cleanout, stimulation, and remedial programs
• Partner with the Field Operations Center to resolve production issues and improve uptime
• Evaluate production trends, downtime, failures, operating costs, and well performance metrics
• Prepare economic evaluations and technical recommendations for production enhancement projects
• Support base production forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning; manage to budget for capital and LOE spend
• Review and improve chemical programs, compression strategies, water handling, and flow assurance practices
• Support root cause analysis for equipment failures, production losses, and recurring operational issues
• Ensure engineering recommendations comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to write detailed procedures for workover, equipment changes, and construction to aid in cost efficiency and goal accomplishment; present projects and AFE’s to management
• Track project execution, results, costs, and post-job performance
• Communicate effectively with reservoir, completions, facilities, and operations teams to maximize asset value
• Provide technical support for acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, and asset evaluations as needed
• Actively seek ways to improve efficiency of work processes and policies

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required
• Professional Engineer license preferred but not required
• Minimum 5 years of upstream oil & gas engineering experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in production engineering
• Experience in shale plays and unconventional field development
• Strong knowledge of production operations, well performance analysis, artificial lift, nodal analysis, decline analysis, and production surveillance
• Familiarity with ESP, gas lift, rod pump, plunger lift, compression, chemical treatment, and flow assurance practices
• Ability to analyze production data, identify performance issues, and recommend corrective actions
• Strong technical writing, economic analysis, and project justification skills
• Proficiency with production data systems, engineering software, Excel, and data visualization tools to include Spotfire
• Strong background in economics
• Ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization

Physical Requirements

This role will involve work in office and field. The candidate must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, climbing, working outdoors, wearing required PPE, traveling to field locations, and working around facility equipment, high-pressure systems, noise, chemicals, and changing weather conditions. The employee is expected to follow all company and regulatory safety requirements and to exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
