Major Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and develop the land administration team, including direct reports and external consultants as engaged
• Assign work, monitor performance, and hold the team accountable for accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables
• Maintain accurate and complete lease, contract, mineral, surface, and right-of-way records
• Administer lease obligations, including rentals, shut-in payments, expirations, extensions, and continuous development provisions
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of land records into the company’s land system of record
• Monitor leasehold ownership, working interest, net revenue interest, and royalty burdens, and track all changes affecting company ownership
• Support acquisition and divestiture activity through land data reviews, document organization, and ownership verification
• Establish and maintain department procedures, workflows, and quality control standards
• Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Administer land data systems and ensure data integrity across lease, contract, ownership, and division order records
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and system functionality
• Partner with IT and system vendors on land system enhancements, conversions, testing, and troubleshooting
• Deliver management reporting on acreage, lease obligations, ownership, expirations, and other land metrics
• Partner closely with Land, Regulatory, Revenue Accounting, Operations, and Asset Management teams
• Support drilling, completions, production, and development planning with accurate land and ownership information
• Support regulatory filings, pooling and unitization activity, and documentation required for Texas operations
• Provide land administration support for audits, litigation, due diligence, and other special projects as needed

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant upstream oil and gas experience, with an emphasis on land or lease administration
• Proven leadership and project management skills, with experience directing workflows, mentoring junior staff, and driving cross-functional coordination
• Strong understanding of Texas oil and gas leases, mineral ownership, royalty interests, working interests, escheatment, title documents, and division orders
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting oil and gas leases, conveyance documents, title opinions, and contracts to establish and maintain ownership decks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets) and Microsoft Word
• Ability to handle owner inquiries and escalations with a high level of professionalism and accuracy
• Experience setting up and maintaining ownership decks, including multi-well and unitized interests
• Hands-on experience with division order systems; proficiency with Quorum is preferred
