Ordeira Conner
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
"Ensign is a place where you are challenged to grow, empowered to lead, and supported along the way."
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Ordeira Conner, and I serve as Executive Assistant supporting Brett Pennington and the executive team. I joined Ensign in 2016, but my history with Brett goes back much further. I have had the privilege of working alongside him for over 15 years, following him from Murphy Exploration and Production to Ensign. This journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
How is Ensign different from other places you have worked?
The people, the purpose, and the trust. Ensign is a place where you are challenged to grow, empowered to lead, and supported along the way. Leadership genuinely invests in their teams and their families, and that generosity sets the tone for everything. There is also something to be said for working alongside people who show up every day with grit and integrity. When the values of a company are not just posted on a wall but actually lived out by the people around you, it changes the way you work. That is Ensign.
What is your favorite thing about working at Ensign?
The people and the culture they have built here. Ensign is built on values that actually mean something: ownership, good judgment, courage, continuous improvement, and grit. You feel that in the way leaders show up for their teams every day. Every manager and executive genuinely cares about the people under their leadership, not just the work. They push you to be better, create space for you to develop, and get the job done safely and with integrity. I am also grateful to work somewhere that aligns with my values. Faith is at the center of everything I do, and Ensign is a place where leading with integrity, generosity, and genuine care for people is not just encouraged but lived out.
What would you say to someone who was interested in working at Ensign?
Ensign is intentional and people first. What sets Ensign apart is that the care for people does not stop at the office door. Leadership here invests in their teams and their families. You feel seen as a whole person, not just an employee. There is also a real sense of ownership. You are trusted to do your job, make good decisions, and bring your best, and that trust means something. When you walk in the door you genuinely feel like this is your company too. That is rare, and it is something I do not take for granted.
