Major Responsibilities
• Field Coordination & Surveillance: Serve as the central point of contact for field staff; direct daily priorities, dispatch technicians, and coordinate responses to minimize downtime and safety risks. Continuously monitor SCADA and automation systems for real-time data from wells, gathering systems, compressors, and facilities; quickly identify alarms and abnormal conditions.
• System Control & Optimization: Remotely start/stop equipment, adjust setpoints, optimize artificial lift and pressures, and support bringing new wells/facilities online.
• Emergency Response & Reporting: Manage incident response and emergency shutdowns; maintain accurate shift logs, production reports, and communicate critical information to supervisors and teams
• Field Coordination & Dispatch: Identify service needs and dispatch providers (water/oil transports, I&E personnel); manage emergency call line and assist field operations, engineering, and management during incidents or emergencies.
• Remote Operations & Optimization: Monitor alarms, ignition issues, and system performance; remotely reset or shut down wells, adjust choke settings, gas injection rates, and POD pressures; manage scheduled downtime events and notify operators accordingly.
• Reporting & Administration: Maintain daily reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and support development of improved operating procedures.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow all HSE policies, use proper PPE, exercise stop-work authority, report incidents/near misses promptly, and ensure full compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
Education, Experience & Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant operator experience such as lease operator, well tech or I/E, field services, SCADA technician experience (position level will be determined based on candidate’s experience and proven competency level):
o Level I requires 2+ years
o Level II requires 5+ years
o Level III requires 8+ years
• Must pass PHSMA operator qualification every 3 years
• Knowledge of water meters and well head control
• Knowledge of SCADA equipment and databases
• Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Strong ability to understand and adhere to processes
• Must be able to promote cooperation and work effectively as part of a team
Required Competencies
• Safety Commitment: Dedicated to following safety policies, site-specific plans, and regulatory requirements, with the confidence to exercise stop-work authority when conditions are unsafe or outside procedure.
• Technical & Control Room Expertise: Experienced Oil & Gas Control Room professional with advanced knowledge of SCADA, DCS, RTU/PLC, HMI, and automation systems; skilled in real-time monitoring, remote well control, artificial lift optimization, alarm management, and troubleshooting of gathering systems, compressors, and production equipment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with the ability to see the big picture and drive effective actions.
• Collaborative & Adaptive Mindset: High-energy team player with agility and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 control room environment; works effectively across field operations, I&E, and management teams.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
• Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
• Must be able to work in a traditional office setting
