Major Responsibilities
• Create, maintain, and develop QC processes, and update well files, cost trackers, and performance reports for drilling and completions operations
• Support Engineers with AFE and cost-tracking processes
• Interpret drilling data, identify trends, and support performance dashboards to optimize drilling efficiency
• Maintain and update well files, cost trackers, and performance reports for drilling and completions operations
• Well creation, and daily tracking of drilling, completions, and workover activity through reports (DDR, DCR) and update key databases (e.g., WellView, OpenWells)
• Coordinate the collection and verification of field data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Support Engineers and Management with well information for future operations, formal presentations, and internal reporting
• Assist with contractor and vendor documentation, invoice coding, and cost reconciliation
• Support regulatory and compliance documentation, ensuring that all operational records meet internal and external requirements
• Assist with rig scheduling, logistics coordination, and field communications
• Compile necessary reports and presentations in collaboration with engineers
• Add new well data to Ensign databases
Education, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in petroleum technology, engineering, or operations
• 3+ years of relevant experience supporting drilling or completions teams in an E&P environment.
• Previous experience with unconventional resource play, preferably Eagle Ford, although other basins will be considered
• Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerBi/Spotfire, data entry systems, and drilling/completions software (e.g., WellView, OpenWells, ARIES, or similar)
• Understanding of drilling and completions terminology, well schematics, and field operations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
• Prior experience in a private-equity-backed or growth-stage E&P company, a plus
